FAQ

Question:

I want to register for two people, but am not sure who my guest will be. Can I pay for a guest but not submit their name?

Answer:

Yes, but we would need you to supply us with your guest’s name by August 15, 2012. We will have to get the proper credentials ready for your guest.

Question:

My wife is coming, but will not be doing any of the driving events. Do I still have to pay the full participant fee?

Answer:

Yes. The fee is not only for the track time but covers insurance, banquets, goodie bags, transportation, and all other events.

Question:

Once I have submitted my form online, can I change my guest or modify any other information on the registration form?

Answer:

Yes, for any changes or modifications, please call VOI Headquarters or e-mail us at info@voi12.com and we will make the requested changes.

Question:

I will be arriving to VOI 12 too late to check in on Thursday. Will I be able to check in at a later time?

Answer:

Yes. The VOI 12 staff will be available to register you in the VOI 12 office all day Friday as well. Office hours will be sent to you prior to the event.

Question:

I am having my car shipped to the event. Where will the transport company pick up my car?

Answer:

Passport Transport is the preferred carrier for VOI 12 and you can coordinate with them directly for pick up and delivery.

Question:

I am not bringing my car to the event. Are there shuttles provided from the airport to the hotel? What about getting to the track?

Answer:

You are responsible for getting from the airport to the hotel. Estimated taxi fair from Charlotte Douglas International Airport is approximately $40 each way. Regarding shuttles to and from the track, they will be provided Friday through Sunday. Shuttle schedules will be sent to you prior to the event.

Question:

I am driving and would like to caravan with other drivers. Do you know of anyone else who is driving from my area?

Answer:

We suggest contacting your local club and organizing something with them. As in the past, we suspect there will be many caravans heading to Charlotte!

Question:

I am renting a car. Do I get to park with the Vipers?

Answer:

The secured parking area at the Embassy Suites Hotel is for Vipers only with plenty of other parking available elsewhere. Shuttles will be provided between the other host hotels so all the Vipers can park together. Parking is outdoors, with "emergency" indoor parking possibly available nearby in the event of inclement weather.

Question:

Will I be able to choose my track day?

Answer:

No. Your track day will be assigned to you. We will be grouping the participants according to their driving skills, while trying to keep the regional clubs together.

Question:

What is the dress code for the banquets?

Answer:

We suggest casual business attire. Please wear whatever is comfortable for you.

Question:

I want to upgrade my room. Are there suites available?

Answer:

Each of the host hotels offers different room styles at different prices. Please see the "Hotels" page for more information.

Question:

I have special food requirements. Will these be honored?

Answer:

Please indicate any special food requirements on your registration form and we will try to accommodate them as best we can.

Question:

Do we get a refund for bad weather?

Answer:

Weather is always unpredictable at any event, including the VOI’s. While we expect great weather and the normal high temperatures in the 70′s, the Invitationals are as much about the people as they are the cars. We still run most, if not all, of the driving venues regardless of weather. Of course the banquets, vendor areas, and all the camaraderie take place regardless. There are no weather refunds.

Question:

I plan to bring my Viper in a trailer. Will parking be available for my truck and trailer?

Answer:

Yes. There will be parking available at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center.

Question:

I am not bringing my Viper - will there be factory Vipers for me to drive?

Answer:

It is very possible that there will be other SRT vehicles to drive but not Vipers. Because the new Viper will not officially go into production until after VOI 12, they may not be available for driving events. There will be new Vipers at the event of course, but it is possible that you will not be able to drive them.
